Help Finalizing Design Details

Geotechnical Investigation

We sample and test soils, groundwater, and bedrock so you get a comprehensive picture of the area you're building on. This involves digging test pits or drilling boreholes and extracting samples. Some testing is done on-site and some testing is conducted on the collected samples that are taken to our own BME laboratory.

Lab Testing

In our Bedford laboratory, we run soil samples through various tests, as prescribed by industry standards, such as the CSA or ASTM. Our laboratory technicians are experienced and the results are verified by one of our engineers.

Slopes and Retaining Walls

We can provide a wide-variety of slope design and retaining wall design solutions. We have completed numerous excavation shoring designs for high-rise buildings in urban settings. We have provided reinforced earth slope design. We have completed precast concrete block designs. We have the right expertise and experience for what you need.

Support During Construction

Blast Monitoring

We record and evaluate ground waves and sound waves to make sure their levels are safe for surrounding structures.

Concrete Testing

We evaluate the characteristics of the concrete you're placing to make sure it will perform as you need it to do. Some kinds of testing can take place on site while others require samples to be analyzed in the BME lab. We offer Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity (UPV) measurements when necessary to estimate in-place concrete quality. Our rebar cover meter also assists with determining the location and size of reinforcement.

Compaction Testing

We have experienced field staff that tests the density and moisture content of gavel and common fills during infilling for buildings and roadways. Testing is conducted to ASTM standards. the results are compared to the Proctor value obtained in the laboratory and presented as a percentage.
